United Nations General Assembly thematic dialogue on human trafficking entitled << Taking collective action to end human trafficking>> Took place on the 13th of May 2009 at UN headquarters in New York to contribute towards discussion and General Assembly action to combat human trafficking as requested by various Member States.
 
Speakers included UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and representatives of UNODC (Executive Director Antonio Maria Costa), the Office of the UN High Commisioner for Human Rights (Deputy Director General Ms. Ndioro Ndiaye), The International Labour Organisation (Ms. Zohreh Tabatabai, Director of Communications) and UNICEF (Deputy Director, Programme Division Mr. Dan Rohrmann) and Dr. Aleya Hammad of the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement "End Human Trafficking Now" Initiative.
